Red Horse Market is seeking skilled Butchers and Seafood Specialists to join our team at our East Hampton location and Southampton Location. We are looking for passionate professionals dedicated to delivering the highest quality meats and seafood while providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.


Butcher Responsibilities


  • Expertly cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meats to Red Horse Market’s quality standards.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting with selections, special orders, and recommendations.

  • Operate butchering tools and industrial equipment to prepare specialty cuts, roasts, and other products.

  • Maintain accurate inventory control, ensuring freshness, quality, and proper rotation.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

  • Keep meat displays, workstations, and walk-in coolers clean and well-organized.

Seafood Specialist Responsibilities


  • Provide expert guidance to customers on seafood selections, preparation, and cooking techniques.

  • Fillet, debone, and prepare fresh seafood to Red Horse Market standards.

  • Handle specialty seafood cuts and fulfill custom preparation requests.

  • Maintain knowledge of local seafood varieties and seasonal availability.

  • Store, display, and rotate seafood properly to ensure freshness and quality.

  • Assist with cutting, processing, and packaging seafood as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all seafood handling and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills


  • 5+ years of experience as a butcher, meat cutter, or seafood specialist in a specialty market, butcher shop, or similar environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of meat and seafood cuts, preparation techniques, and industry best practices.

  • Advanced knife skills and proficiency with butchering and seafood-processing equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills with professionalism and enthusiasm.

  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in refrigerated environments.
