A private equity firm, hedge fund, asset manager, family office, or investment platform may seek a Buy-Side Transition Analyst to support investment evaluation, diligence, and portfolio analysis. This role is ideal for candidates leveraging investment banking or transaction experience to build principal investing skill sets, including underwriting, risk analysis, and investment decision support.
Support buy-side investment analysis across private equity, growth equity, credit, or public markets strategies
Build and maintain investment-grade financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, and return scenarios
Conduct commercial, financial, and market diligence on prospective investments
Analyze business models, competitive dynamics, and growth drivers of target companies
Prepare investment memoranda, IC materials, and deal summaries
Support portfolio monitoring, including performance tracking and variance analysis
Leverage sell-side transaction experience to evaluate deal structure, risk, and downside protection
Coordinate with senior investors, advisors, and third-party diligence providers
Assist in transitioning live opportunities from screening through execution
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline
Strong interest in buy-side investing, private markets, or asset management
Advanced analytical skills with a solid foundation in financial modeling and valuation
Ability to think like an investor and assess risk, return, and strategic fit
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and strong judgment
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, equity research, or transaction advisory is highly beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research platforms (e.g., Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet, Bloomberg)
