Job Description

Position Summary

The Buyer - Aircraft and Engine Parts - is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, expediting, and managing the supply of aircraft engine parts, components, repair services, and outside processing required to support maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), manufacturing, and operational programs. This role ensures engine parts are procured and delivered on schedule, at competitive costs, and in compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.

The Buyer works closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to maintain material availability, resolve supply chain issues, mitigate procurement risks, and support operational objectives through effective planning and supplier management.

Key Responsibilities

* Procure aircraft engine parts, components, consumables, repair services, tooling, and outside processing services.

* Review demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and operational schedules to ensure timely purchase order placement.

* Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms, and place purchase orders.

* Monitor open purchase orders and expedite critical shortages.

* Communicate supply chain risks, delays, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders.

* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness.

* Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, operations, and quality teams to support material requirements and resolve issues.

* Maintain accurate procurement data within ERP/MRP systems, including pricing, lead times, supplier information, and order status.

* Identify long-lead items, obsolete parts, single-source dependencies, and other supply chain risks.

* Support cost-reduction initiatives, inventory optimization efforts, and supplier performance improvements.

* Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures, customer requirements, quality standards, export regulations, and aviation industry requirements.

* Resolve receiving discrepancies, invoice issues, warranty claims, and purchase order corrections.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Aviation, Operations, or related field preferred.

* Minimum three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory control, aviation maintenance, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.

* Experience purchasing aircraft engine parts, gas turbine components, repair services, or technical materials preferred.

* Knowledge of RFQs, purchase orders, supplier management, lead-time planning, and inventory control.

* Ability to read and interpret part numbers, bills of material (BOMs), technical specifications, and supplier documentation.

* Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.

* Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
