About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Buyer for a leading electronics manufacturing company in Bloomington, MN. In this role, you’ll support indirect materials procurement by working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, timely purchasing that keeps manufacturing operations running smoothly. If you enjoy analytical work, supplier negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration in a professional onsite environment, this could be a great fit for you.
What You'll Do as a Buyer:
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, facilities, and engineering teams
  • Process RFQs, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and change requests
  • Maintain procurement system data integrity within ERP systems (SAP)
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities and services
  • Manage supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery
  • Escalate critical procurement or quality issues to appropriate stakeholders
What You Need to Bring to the Buyer role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Purchasing, procurement, or supplier management experience preferred
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Data analytics experience (Excel required; Power BI, Python, Alteryx, or Knime preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
