Job Description:
  • The Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement of materials, products, and services needed for company operations.
  • This role focuses on placing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, tracking deliveries, and ensuring items are received on time and at the correct cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
  • Review and approve auto generated requisitions routed to WMU.
  • Review supplier order confirmations and update Oracle accordingly.
  • Expedite past due and urgent orders with suppliers to prevent production delays.
  • Order parts and materials to support Aftermarket demand.
  • Create and manage intercompany inventory transfer requests.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Inventory teams to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor open orders and follow up proactively to ensure on time delivery.
  • Verify order accuracy and resolve discrepancies involving quantity, pricing, or quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure data integrity within the ERP system.
  • Assist with supplier evaluations and help maintain the approved vendor list.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as Manufacturing, Quality, and Accounting to resolve order related issues.
  • Support cost control initiatives by reviewing pricing, identifying savings opportunities, and preventing unnecessary spend.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in business or supply chain preferred
  • 0 2 years of purchasing, administrative, or supply chain experience
  • Basic understanding of purchasing or inventory processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP experience a plus
