Buyer - Buyer II

Location: North Reading, Massachusetts (Onsite)

COMPENSATION: $23 - $33 HOURLY

Role Overview

We are seeking a candidate for a Buyer position. This role involves purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring material availability. The successful candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchasing materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, and PCB assemblies.
• Managing supplier relationships and key performance indicators.
• Providing inputs for monthly scorecards and presenting procurement data during business reviews.
• Planning material requirements, managing inventory levels, and managing schedules in an ERP system.
• Identifying supply chain material risks and providing transparent monitoring of material flow.
• Collaborating with Planning to communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
• Developing mechanisms for monitoring and updating open purchase orders and delivery requirements.
• Assisting the Global Commodity Management team with supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
• Resolving purchase order receiving errors and assisting with invoice reconciliation.
• Managing supplier returns, including non-conformance reports and return material authorizations.
• Identifying and executing opportunities for process improvement.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• An understanding of data management and databases is a plus.
