Position Summary:
The Buyer reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and monitoring department purchase requisitions for proposer authorization, specifications, and takes responsibility for procuring appropriate items or services. The Buyer may perform a variety of tasks in accordance with their training, experience, and skill.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
·Managing and resolving all discrepancies including receiving, accounts payable and non-conforming material
·Establishes new supplier relationships and negotiates payment terms (Net 30/60/90, Etc.)
·Ensures purchase orders are confirmed and arrive on scheduled dates
·Maintains the integrity of all purchase orders entered into the ERP system
·Maintains current supply sources and supplier relationships: develops new supply sources where suppliers are inadequate to meet company timing or quality requirements.
·Coordinates service requirements with internal customers
·Tracks delinquent arrivals from purchase orders
Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:
·Three (3) years' experience as a Buyer in a NPI contract manufacturing environment consisting of PCBA and Mechanical assemblies
·Possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
·Understands the competitive dynamics in electronic manufacturing services and NPI process.
·Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems.
·Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
