About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join a growing industrial technology organization.. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of critical materials.
This position will focus on sourcing and purchasing a variety of materials, including electronic components, machined parts, metal fabrications, and MRO supplies, while supporting a Just-In-Time (JIT) production environment.
What You'll Do
- Source and purchase materials including electronic components, MRO items, machined parts, and fabricated metal components
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and performance
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to optimize cost, quality, and lead times
- Monitor and expedite purchase orders to meet production timelines and prevent delays
- Partner with inventory and production teams to align material flow with JIT requirements
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor data within ERP systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain issues, including shortages, delays, and quality concerns
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, planning, quality, and production teams
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in a Buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing environment
Experience purchasing electronic components (strongly preferred)
Background in industrial, equipment, or manufacturing settings
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics BC or similar preferred)
- Familiarity with machining, metal fabrication, and MRO purchasing is a plus
Self-starter with strong accountability and follow-through
