Computer Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a talented Buyer to join our Client's dynamic team. Job at a glance:
This is a long-term contract, with an initial term of 6 months, planned for extension and/or permanent placement
Pay rate is $34-$37/hr W2 + eligible to sign up for benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k) on day 1
Hybrid position, onsite in Columbia, SC 3 days/wk (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and remote 2 days/wk
Position Summary Purchasing professional responsible for sourcing, vendor management, RFP/RFB processes, contract pricing, negotiations, strategic purchasing projects, supply chain coordination, and stakeholder support across hardware, software, and services. Key Responsibilities
Lead large and complex RFPs, RFBs, RFQs, and sourcing events
Gather business requirements and identify appropriate products/services
Work with suppliers and internal technology/platform owners
Source approved vendors and support vendor onboarding when required
Negotiate pricing, volume discounts, and budgetary quotes
Support strategic purchasing initiatives and projects
Track orders through receipt and resolve shipping/logistics issues
Coordinate RMAs and vendor-related issue resolution
Maintain approved hardware/software lists
Manage vendor relationships and performance
Communicate supply chain risks, shortages, and pricing volatility
Support hardware transition initiatives without supply disruptions
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of purchasing, finance, and/or budget management experience
4+ years of purchasing, finance, and/or budget management experience
Experience purchasing and sourcing hardware (data center/ workstation), software items and ability to understand contract renewal purchase orders

6+ years purchasing and finance/budget management experience
