- Generate, process, and track purchase orders and verify order accuracy and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with purchasing and shop personnel to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Assist with maintaining and improving purchasing and inventory processes and systems.
- Research and source products across all departments, including maintenance, machining, mold making, safety, and operations.
- Input and maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor information within the ERP system.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and product availability.
- Assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative products or suppliers.
- Research and establish relationships with new suppliers as needed.
- Maintain strong working relationships with existing vendors and suppliers.
- Communicate with vendors regarding order discrepancies, shortages, quality concerns, pricing, and delivery issues.
- Follow up on open purchase orders and communicate changes or delays to the appropriate team members.
- Assist with gathering purchasing and inventory information and generating reports as requested.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to purchasing, inventory, and supply chain processes.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001.
- May perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications & Education Requirements - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of purchasing, buying, procurement, or related experience preferred.
- Experience purchasing raw materials, industrial components, or manufacturing supplies preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, coworkers, and management.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Familiarity with sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
- Experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery, and other purchasing terms as needed.
Physical Requirements - The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects that are 25 lbs. or heavier.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment and safely handle materials and products as required.
