A manufacturing company is seeking a Buyer to join the team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented procurement professional with experience sourcing materials, equipment, and services in a manufacturing environment. The Buyer is responsible for coordinating procurement activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support production operations.

Salary:$21/hr
Location: Houston, TX 77008
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for the organization.
  • Review requisitions and coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
  • Estimate values according to knowledge of market price.
  • Determine the method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Expedite the delivery of goods to users.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with procurement processes, vendor management, and purchase order administration
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement records
  • Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm
