Job Summary
The Buyer I is responsible for procuring goods and services to support organizational operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to fulfill procurement needs, monitor supplier performance, and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
Review purchase requisitions and requests to determine the appropriate procurement methods.
Identify potential suppliers and solicit bids or quotations for goods and services.
Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery to achieve the best value.
Generate accurate purchase orders and contracts in compliance with company policies.
Monitor and track order status, expediting deliveries as needed to meet project timelines.
Resolve issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding pricing, quality, or delivery.
Maintain positive supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement requirements and support operational needs.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
Work Experience
1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related function required.
