We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract (6 months with potential for extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Schedules and tracks material deliveries based upon production schedule and other program requirements.

• Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

• Prepares purchase orders and bid requests for procurement of raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.

• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price and analyzes price proposals and financial data to determine reasonable prices.

• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

• Enters purchase orders into MRP system and issues to supplier via internet, fax, or e-mail.

• Maintains purchase order status and follows up on unconfirmed and past due orders plus requirements due in coming weeks.

• Arbitrates claims and resolves complaints generated during performance of purchase order or contract.

• Updates suppliers with engineering changes and drawings and actively manages supplier performance.

• Expedites delivery of goods to users and supports achievement of department metrics.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing is required.

• Experience scheduling and tracking material deliveries based on production schedules.

• Experience preparing purchase orders and bid requests.

• Experience estimating values according to knowledge of market price.

• Experience analyzing price proposals and financial data to determine reasonable prices.

• Experience entering purchase orders into MRP systems and issuing to suppliers.

• Experience maintaining purchase order status and following up on past due orders.

• Experience arbitrating claims and resolving complaints during purchase order performance.

• College degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred.
