Buyer (Contract) – Onsite | North Reading, MA

Location: North Reading, MA (Onsite)

Duration: 6–7 Month Contract

Pay Rate: $29–$31/hour (W2)

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory, and ensuring the timely delivery of critical components to support business operations.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials planning who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials, equipment, and components from approved suppliers.
  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
  • Plan material requirements and manage inventory levels using an ERP system.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and communicate mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with planning and cross-functional teams to support operational requirements.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, expedite shipments when necessary, and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Assist with supplier performance evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve purchase order discrepancies, receiving issues, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Coordinate supplier returns, non-conformance reports, and return material authorizations (RMAs).
  • Analyze procurement data and contribute to reporting and process improvement efforts.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams is preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory planning, supplier management, and procurement processes.
  • Experience analyzing procurement or supply chain data.
