Location: North Reading, MA 01864
Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: 8 :30 AM 5:00 PM (or 8:00 AM/9:00 AM flexible start), Monday to Friday.
Job Description:
  • The Buyer will assist the Buying Team in expanding selection by setting up new vendors and items, maintaining the product catalog and managing pricing.
  • Job responsibilities include new product launch & coordination, maintaining product cost, retail price, content and images, vendor relations, and assisting with special projects.
  • Additional responsibilities include supporting and training as a backup to Control Buyer.
  • Successful candidates will be highly organized, self motivated, detail oriented and have strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point).
  • An understanding of data management and databases is also a plus.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a highly demanding, but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
Purpose of the Team and key projects
  • Managing end-to-end procurement activities for at least 3 programs.
  • Acting as the primary procurement point of contact between program teams, hardware/deployment stakeholders, and external suppliers.
  • Issuing POs and ensuring timely equipment deployment.
Team culture
  • Supporting 60 70 programs across the network
Task Breakdown and Workflow
  • Reviewing daily program deployment schedules at sites.
  • Ensuring Purchase Orders accurately reflect schedules as the operational source of truth.
  • Coordinating supplier deliveries against timelines.
  • Identifying and proactively escalating delivery/supply risks to internal engineering and deployment teams.
Internal Team interactions
  • MSP/AFT Procurement Team (supporting 60 70 programs across the network).
Training Activities & Risk Assessment
Describe the training program for this role.
  • System training for Coupa, Oracle, Kinaxis, Enovia, and Teamcenter via virtual screen-sharing sessions.
  • Followed by 1 week of peer shadowing, 1 week of reverse shadowing, then independent execution.
