Location: Plymouth, MN (Hybrid Onsite with 1 day/week remote)
Duration: 12-month Contract


Work Schedule: Flexible schedule: (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) or (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Buyer I to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) team within a fast-paced medical device manufacturing environment. The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing direct and indirect materials, processing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of materials for new product development projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, procurement knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and process purchase orders for direct and indirect materials in accordance with procurement policies.
  • Support procurement activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Process purchase requisitions and coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Review supplier quotations and purchase order acknowledgments for accuracy.
  • Plan and schedule deliveries to support project timelines while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Sourcing, Category Management, Shipping/Receiving, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Manage purchase orders through completion and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes and quality system requirements.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or commodity management.
  • Knowledge of procurement concepts, purchasing procedures, and supply chain practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with indirect procurement.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment.
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement processes.
