Description:
The Buyer II will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply chain for electronic components and other materials critical to the design and production of defense electronics systems. The position requires knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and compliance with both internal and government procurement regulations. This role will work closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure that procurement activities support production timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
Identify, qualify, and evaluate new suppliers to ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.
Procurement Process Management:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for electronics components, materials, and services.
Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring timely placement, accurate documentation, and adherence to internal controls.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and production teams, to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other government-specific procurement policies.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor performance data for audit and reporting purposes.
Cost and Performance Management:
Monitor supplier performance against contract terms, including quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with suppliers to reduce lead times and improve delivery schedules.
Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to optimize procurement strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the engineering and quality control teams to ensure that materials and components meet the technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to production lines.
