Job title: Buyer III

Location: Cape Canaveral, FL
Type: Contract | On-site
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week (8 Hours per Day, Monday–Friday)
Compensation: $61.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer III to support procurement and supplier management activities for complex aerospace programs. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, developing strategic supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials that meet quality, technical, and program requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments, strong supplier management and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting fast-paced spaceflight development programs.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Manage and direct suppliers and internal stakeholders to support the development of various spaceflight systems.
  • Ensure program requirements are prioritized and executed to meet project schedules and business objectives.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs).
  • Perform price and cost analyses to support sourcing decisions and negotiations.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Construct and manage various contract types, including long-term procurement agreements and strategic sourcing partnerships.
  • Own the procurement lifecycle from requisition creation through final invoice payment while resolving procurement-related issues.
  • Lead the identification, negotiation, implementation, and management of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
  • Support procurement organization's strategic initiatives and corporate objectives.

Production & Program Support

  • Ensure production materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical performance requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement operations.

Compliance & Contract Management

  • Apply knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) throughout procurement activities.
  • Negotiate and administer multiple contract types, including:
    • Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
    • Time & Material (T&M)
    • Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)
    • Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)
  • Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support strategic sourcing and supplier performance reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field with 5+ years of Supply Chain or Procurement experience; or
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of Supply Chain or Procurement experience.
  • Experience in procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience negotiating and managing multiple contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
  • Strong data analysis and program metric tracking experience.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and source control drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the aerospace or space industry.
  • Experience procuring Avionics or Fluid System components.
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR import/export regulations.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Jira, and SharePoint.
