    Description

    Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for the procurement of production materials and services, non-production materials and services, consumable tooling, and capital equipment. Responsible for supplier quality and acts as intermediary between supplier and plant for quality related items.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for purchasing materials and supplies used in manufacturing.
    • Responsible for supplier selection, cost, and delivery schedules.
    • Responsible for supplier development initiatives focused on improving delivery performance, reducing cost, and improving quality.
    • Responsible for staying apprised of technology updates and recent trends within industry.
    • Facilitates supplier led training with cross-functional departments to improve overall supply chain knowledge.
    • Act as a change agent by supporting organizational/departmental continuous improvement initiatives
    • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives

     

    Candidate Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years similar experience is required
    • Epicor experience or similar ERP
    • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Problem solving and prevention skills a must
    • Experience in working with cross-functional teams
    • Must be able to travel - Approximately 15%
    • Must be able to wear prescribed personal protective equipment – safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
    • Work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors
    • Sit/stand/walk 8-10 hours a day
    • Be able to lift up to 35 pounds

     

    Job Qualifications and Experience (Preferred)

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field strongly preferred
    • APICS or ISM certification a plus
