GeoLogics is working with a top Aerospace and Defense client looking for a Buyer II in Lafayette, CO

 

Role: Buyer II

Client: Top Aerospace and Defense company

Location: Lafayette, CO

Education: Bachelor's degree 

Contract Length: 6 months with possibility of extension

Rate: $32 to $37 (per hour on a non-benefitted W2 contract)

Job Description:

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Buyer II in Lafayette Colorado that has existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment. The Buyer will have working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and/or NASA procurement regulations, price analysis and target pricing techniques, as well as prior experience procuring Custom Fab-to-Print commodities.

 

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 3-5 Years ERP Experience - SAP Preferred.
  • Must be able to understand/read engineering drawings and BOM structure
  • Experience working with mechanical/fabricated part drawings and technical spec understanding
  • Experience working in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure the organization's needs are met while managing purchasing process procedures
  • Working cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Material Program Manager, Planning, and Accounting to meet business needs
  • Experience in procurement and/or vendor contract management is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
  • Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance with company quality standards. Work with Suppliers to resolve quality issues
  • Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Exhibits a high level to attention to detail
  • Excellent scheduling and time management skills
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, self-motivated, and be able to drive a process from start to finish

 

Desired Skills: 

  • Ability to compile information to make strategic decisions
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Working knowledge of vendor setup, PO packages, T&C negotiations, NDA processing, Cost Savings negotiations.
  • Mechanical Buying experience
  • Software buying experience

How will the contractor's success be measured:

o They will utilize the 2026 Purchasing Team Goals, as well as the 1:1 Control Tower metrics based on their procurements, deliveries, trainings, etc.
