SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for developing sourcing strategy (cost modeling, market analysis, business need assessment) and performing analytics (bid events, supplier negotiations, and contract analysis) related to assigned categories. The role requires constant engagement with suppliers to drive performance management, resolve quality issues, and generate market intelligence. This position will be relied upon as a significant contributor to achieving departmental goals through developing and building strategies for the vendors of all materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform spend, contract, and market analysis for assigned categories
Ensure supplier engagement and implement process improvement
Conduct bid events, prepare bid analysis, and make sourcing recommendations to strategic sourcing managers
Generate materials in support of presentations, workshops, and negotiations
Communicate sourcing decisions to stakeholders and necessary system updates
Provide necessary inputs for supply agreements and monitor compliance.
Manage supplier performance
Ensure adherence and compliance with procurement processes and policies
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories
Supplier relationship management
Drive aggressive productivity goals and create a pipeline of projects
Capacity planning and business continuity plans
Material monitoring program
Supplier audits/SQF compliance
Resolve all payment discrepancies promptly
Assist in managing the accuracy and reliability of the MRP system
Comply with Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
Comply with GMPs in the plant.
Assist in the maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality system.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A college degree in business, marketing, or related equivalent degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in purchasing.
Application and experience with CRM systems and ERP Systems, i.e., Ross, etc.
Competency in Microsoft Office software suite.
Purchasing professional who is detail-oriented and accurate, with strong proven purchasing and negotiating skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels, with the confidence to
be engaging with vendors as well as management and line workers
Highest level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle and manage confidential information
Highly effective communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas
and concepts
Experience in strategic planning and execution, including analyzing and improving existing operations and procedures,
formulating policies, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
Creative, abstract thinker/problem-solve
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
