Buyer

Blevins, Inc. is searching for a Buyer reporting to the Corporate office in Nashville, TN. The Buyer position plays an integral role in the success of the company by maintaining appropriate inventory levels to match market conditions. The ideal candidate will be an energetic & analytical individual with applicable experience and/or education. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.

We are looking for a full-time Buyer with a minimum of 1 year of purchasing and negotiating experience and/or education. Experience in a corporate environment a plus. Excellent working conditions and motivating environment with bonus potential and other benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Must understand concepts of forecasting, demand planning and inventory management for distributors
• Aggressively researches new items and makes recommendations to purchase
• Demonstrated negotiation skills that deliver the best value for our customers
• Actively manage vendors and follow up on outstanding issues

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year related purchasing experience with 3 years preferred
• College degree preferred
• Previous negotiating experience
• Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environmen
• Expected to function independently and collaboratively, bringing fresh thinking, an open mind, and a strong work ethic to the team environment
• Exceptional analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills
