Key Responsibilities:
  • Thriving on keeping operations running smoothly.
  • Serving as the critical connection between suppliers and production teams.
  • Strategically managing procurement while optimizing costs and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Taking ownership of your assigned categories by selecting top-tier suppliers.
  • Negotiating win-win contracts and building lasting partnerships.
  • Using production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory targets to anticipate material needs.
  • Keeping our operations ahead of the curve by foreseeing potential shortages or surpluses.
  • Creating and releasing purchase orders with meticulous accuracy.
  • Ensuring every detail aligns with company policies and operational requirements.
  • Tracking and elevating supplier performance across delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
  • Taking decisive action when supplier improvements are needed.
  • Leveraging MRP/ERP systems like SAP or Oracle to optimize inventory levels.
  • Partnering closely with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to understand their material needs.
  • Solving supply chain challenges before they impact operations.
  • Identifying opportunities to uncover cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Implementing process improvements and negotiation tactics that deliver bottom-line results.
  • Preparing insightful purchasing reports, including spend analysis and supplier scorecards.
  • Maintaining rigorous adherence to purchasing policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with 5 years of planning or buying experience, or Associates Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Industry experience in life sciences, manufacturing, healthcare, or medical devices.
  • Knowledge of GxP regulations and quality systems.
  • Strong experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
