POSITION SUMMARYThe Buyer/Planner is responsible for supporting the procurement, planning, and movement of materials through the production cycle. This role works closely with suppliers, production teams, engineering, quality, and service to help ensure job/work orders are created, and materials are available when needed to support customer delivery, quality, and cost objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCreate Job Orders from project demand and issue materialsUse job order material demand to place purchase ordersReview supplier quotes to ensure pricing aligns with established budgetsDevelop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliersReview and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase ordersEnsure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late ordersCommunicates effectively and timely through supply chain hierarchy potential risks and opportunities; Escalating price and delivery concerns/issuesResolve invoice discrepancies with vendorsMaintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, lead times and other important data in ERP systemManages inventory at both product and item level to achieve organizational goals through product availability and inventory optimization.Troubleshoots and resolves transactional/inventory/system discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.Ensures compliance with inventory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Provide inventory information to key stakeholders as neededREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills)5+ years of Supply Chain Buying & Planning or related experience preferred.Completion of, or in progress of, APICS, CPIM, or CSCP Certification strongly desired.Lean Six Sigma experience a plusProficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI; advanced skillset preferred.Strong analytical skills with an ability to utilize data from multiple sources.Able to utilize ERP and Planning systems; knowledge/experience with Syteline preferred.Preferred Attributes:Outstanding communication skills required - verbal, written and presentation.Able to work effectively on an independent basis, or within a team environmentAble to work in a fast-paced, results oriented and deadline driven environmentAbility to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).Team player
