Title: Buyer / Procurement Specialist Location: East Peoria, IL Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role Pay Rate: $25.00 – 27.50/hr. with benefit inclusions
Job Summary Seeking a Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support NPI and CPI sourcing initiatives through supplier management, procurement execution, and cross-functional project support. This role will lead sourcing activities, evaluate supplier performance, negotiate commercial agreements, and collaborate with engineering, planning, and program teams to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities
Lead sourcing activities supporting NPI and CPI programs.
Evaluate, select, and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and performance.
Manage purchase orders, quotations, bids, and supplier contracts.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and sourcing agreements.
Resolve supplier performance, quality, and delivery issues.
Partner with engineering, planning, and project teams to support business objectives.
Analyze supplier proposals, cost data, and sourcing opportunities.
Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Years of Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Associate degree with 4+ years of relevant experience considered.
High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience considered.
Internship experience may be considered.
