Description

Kforce has a client in Saint Charles, MO that is seeking a Buyer who will be managing procurement activities in a manufacturing environment, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining inventory levels. The Buyer will collaborate with internal departments and ensure accurate documentation of purchasing records. Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing Materials: Identify and source raw materials, components, and finished products required for manufacturing processes
  • Negotiating Contracts: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable conditions and ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Supplier Management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor their performance, and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stocks as needed, avoiding excess or shortages
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings in terms of quality, price, and reliability
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as production, finance, and logistics to align procurement activities with business goals
  • Documentation: Ensure all purchasing records and documentation are accurate and up-to-date, including invoices and purchase orders
  • Assisting with other miscellaneous projects and dealing with materials

Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the manufacturing sector is preferred
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency in purchasing and inventory management software is also important; Overall good technical skills
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
