JOB DUTIES:
  • Requires experience buying small component parts, hard drives and cables. Needs familiarity with the standard distribution suppliers.
  • MRP experience preferred. Knowledge of a PO system (no specific one required). Ensures timely order placement of product or service requirements from pre-selected sources of supply. Issues releases against pre-established blanket purchase orders. Provides follow-up information on delivery schedule status.
  • Prepares and maintains reports and files.
  • Provides general assistance to Buyers and Section Managers in routine purchasing activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of direct purchasing experience
  • Requires knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures
  • Word processing and spreadsheet skills highly desirable;
  • Electronic component experience, preferred
