Buyer- Software Systems

BlueWave is hiring a Software & IT Buyer for an aerospace client based in Long Beach, California. As Software & IT Buyer, you will manage procurement activities for enterprise software, SaaS applications, cloud services, and other technology purchases. You will oversee sourcing and purchasing from initial request through purchase order execution while strengthening supplier relationships and supporting scalable procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement lifecycle from intake through purchase order issuance and supplier follow-through
• Create and manage RFQs, RFPs, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders
• Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes for software, SaaS applications, cloud services, and IT-related purchases
• Compare pricing, licensing structures, maintenance agreements, service levels, contract terms, and overall business value
• Manage supplier relationships and support sourcing, negotiations, onboarding, renewals, and vendor performance
• Monitor open purchase orders and supplier commitments to support timely delivery
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier records, contracts, and purchase orders
• Partner with IT, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, vendor consolidation, and process improvement
• Manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience
• Experience procuring software, SaaS platforms, cloud services, IT systems, or similar technology solutions
• Experience creating and managing RFQs and RFPs
• Experience managing the full purchase order lifecycle
• Experience using an ERP or procurement management system
• Vendor relationship management and supplier negotiation experience
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, financial, legal, and operational teams
• Comfort working with evolving processes, changing priorities, and aggressive timelines
• Experience reviewing software licensing agreements and subscription-based pricing models preferred
• Aerospace, space, or defense industry experience highly preferred
• Startup or high-growth company experience highly preferred

Employment Type: Contract, onsite in Long Beach, CA
Contract Length: 6+ months, with potential extension or conversion
Pay Rate: $42–$46 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Anticipated Start: As soon as possible
