Buyer Specialist

Arconic is currently in search of Purchasing Agent to join our Kawneer Building and Construction Team based in Cranberry Township PA.

Job Summary:

Kawneer North America offers architectural aluminum building products and systems for the commercial construction industry. We provide customers with a comprehensive product portfolio that includes entrances, framing systems, windows, and curtain wall systems. The Purchasing Agent uses technical skills and knowledge to do the following:

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• One year of experience in customer service, purchasing, or other relevant work
• Must be competent in Microsoft Suite
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's (4 year) degree in Business Administration/Economics, Supply Chain or Engineering
• Knowledge of financial or procurement processes, especially purchase-to-pay (operational)
• Proficiency in data-mining and software applications
• Communication skills
• Customer-oriented

Competencies/skills:

• Must be extremely organized and fast paced
• Organizational- It is important to keep RFQs neatly in assigned and well-marked folders. Most RFQs require multiple vendors and makeups. It is important to keep them orderly, so they are easily accessible.
• Customer Service- As an liaison between OE/Estimating and vendors the ideal candidate must be able to answer questions multiple times and be patient in working with both internal and external actors.
• Attention to detail- Glass units are often complex and have minute differences that effect price. The ideal candidate will be able to understand and notice small differences and price correctly.
• Basic Business acumen- Its important to understand the role within the Kawneer team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Purchasing agent executes on relevant Procurement strategies as directed by the Procurement Manager
• Responsible for all obtaining initial estimating quotes from Vendors as it relates to Windows and window components (Insulated glass units, hardware, blinds, louvers, break metal, outsourced painting, and others)
• Provide the Estimating and Order Entry teams with correct and timely pricing on Insulated Glass Units, Panels, Louvers, Curving, and/or other specified Buy-Out Actions
• Maintain internal pricing sheet, quotes, communications, and other relevant information in the shared drive.
• Measures activities and coordinates information with relevant teams.
• Works closely with procurement team on all relevant and designated tasks
• Communicates Supplier issues
• Participates in supplier meetings
