This position plans and expedites commodities for use in the manufacturing process and operation of the business. This position plays a key role in the accomplishment of the goals and objectives established for total internal and external customer satisfaction.
Maintain current supplier delivery schedule, Minimize material stock-outs
Administer supplier contracts
Evaluate Supplier Performance relative to Price, Delivery, and Quality
Essential Responsibilities:
Utilize company ERP system to analyze materials requirements and execute purchase orders for material replenishment. Includes order placement, and supplier follow-up as needed to ensure on-time delivery of materials ordered.
Work in coordination with scheduling, production, and other internal customers to ensure materials received meet all requirements.
Assist with supplier assessment and performance tracking. Develop action plans with suppliers to address deficiencies.
Negotiate vendor pricing, and work with suppliers to achieve maximum overall value to the organization.
Research and develop alternate sources as needed to improve cost, quality, and lead time.
Communicate company goals to suppliers, developing partnerships that emphasize company values.
Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management.
Communication:
This position will be communicating with internal customers and external suppliers concerning topics such as part requirements, target pricing, and anticipated purchase volumes.
This position will interface with Product Management, Supply Chain, Accounting, IT, Production, and Sales personnel.
Must communicate with Quality to ensure all appropriate standards and processes are followed
Must Communicate with Safety department to ensure all safety and OSHA 1910 standards are followed
Requirements:
Minimum GED or High School diploma.
Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory control, and / or Engineering experience.
3-year minimum buying experience in manufacturing environment required.
Microsoft office and excel skills
Excellent communication skills
Conformance to requirements is important to succeeding operations.
Will support the Quality Management System (QMS)
Required to support and ensure all OSHA standards for safety are followed.
Interaction with vendors may require travel.
Able to read SDS sheets. Overtime. Walking, Standing, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching
