    Summary

    CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity in the Strategic Sourcing department. We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing operations. In this role, you will purchase, distribute bids, source suppliers, materials, and equipment necessary to support the agriculture business units which include: Global Grain terminals, oilseed & sunflower processing plants, ethanol, and Ag Retail locations.

     

    This position is a hybrid schedule out of our global corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN. 

    Responsibilities

    • Own purchasing process for the agriculture business units
    • Process purchase requisitions for capital, materials, and goods 
    • Issue and maintain purchase orders
    • Review quotes, terms, and conditions of suppliers 
    • Responsible for daily vendor communications 
    • Review acknowledgements
    • Resolve discrepancies and communicate resolutions to requestors
    • Compile material required for Request for Quote (RFQ) packages for all departments within the agriculture business units
    • Complete information for vendor/price evaluations 
    • Coordinate, issue, and review supplier scorecards
    • Review and coordinate monthly blanket purchases 
    • Complete special projects as assigned by Sourcing department leadership team as needed
    • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (required)

    • High School diploma or GED
    • 2+ years of relevent purchasing and/or supply chain experience 

    Additional Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Systems Engineering, Statistics (or related field).
    • Knowledge of Purchasing Best Business Practice, Math, & Ethics preferred
    • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
    • SAP, Ariba Network and/or Coupa experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
    • Ability to influence and negotiate
    • Strong decision making skills
    • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.

    Physical Requirements

    • Travel required up to 10%

    CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
