Buyer (Tail Spend & Catalog Enablement)

[Job Description]

A large reputable utility company in Bothell, WA is currently hiring for a Buyer (Tail Spend & Catalog Enablement). This temporary role will support procurement operations with a focus on tail spend management, supplier identification, and catalog enablement in SAP Ariba. This role will help reduce manual purchasing activity, improve spend visibility, and expand preferred purchasing channels by leveraging contracts, suppliers, and digital buying tools.

Pay - $32/hr. - $38/hr. (Depending on overall relevant experience, including SAP Ariba proficiency)

Location - Bothell, WA (Hybrid Schedule)

Contract Duration - 6-Month Contract To Start (Possibility for Extension or Conversion)

[Responsibilities]

• Owns execution of tail spend sourcing, rate card maintenance, supplier identification, and catalog enablement. Does not own strategic sourcing events, complex negotiations, or contract drafting.
• Actively manage and reduce tail spend across assigned categories. Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and shift spend to preferred vendors. Execute spot buys in alignment with procurement policies and pricing benchmarks. Monitor purchasing trends and recommend process improvements.
• Research and identify qualified suppliers for materials and low-complexity service needs. Support onboarding of suppliers in alignment with the company"s requirements. Validate supplier capabilities and pricing competitiveness.
• Maintain and update supplier rate cards in coordination with category managers. Ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with negotiated terms. Identify opportunities for pricing standardization.
• Ensure purchase requests leverage existing contracts and preferred suppliers. Redirect spend from non-contracted suppliers where possible. Partner with category managers to identify contract gaps. Manage contracts and pricing in SAP ECC.
• Enhance SAP Ariba Guided Buying through punchout and hosted catalog expansion. Improve item descriptions and usability. Work with suppliers to enable punchout capabilities. Execute spot buying in SAP ECC, with catalog content maintained in Ariba.
• Identify opportunities to shift manual buying to catalog, portals, and automated channels. Support supplier portal setup. Recommend improvements to reduce cycle times.

[Qualification Requirements]

• 2-5 years of procurement or supply chain experience.
• Tail spend management experience.
• Catalog enablement experience.
• Experience with SAP Ariba.
• Strong multitasking and analytical skills.
• Experience with supplier onboarding and pricing management.
• Comfortable submitting to a drug test (including THC) upon onboarding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
