Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. designs and manufactures the most technologically advanced Infrared (IR) and Electro-Optical (E-O) test instrumentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Purchase the material required for production including raw materials, machined parts, electronic components, tools, and other supplies.
- Develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and coordinates logistics.
- Initiates RFQ's and onboards capable suppliers.
- Analyze part usage and sales forecasts to set up the appropriate planning policies in the company's MRP system.
- Assists the Purchasing team with technical planning questions.
- Manages supply chain projects with limited supervision.
- Represent the Materials team in ECO meetings.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance, including supplier development and process/cost improvement.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Participates in the Materials group's continuous improvement projects.
- Must be able to work with limited or no supervision.
- Must be able to work full time onsite.
