Lower middle-market private equity firms within our network may seek analytically driven Buyout Origination Analysts to support proprietary deal sourcing and pipeline development for control-oriented investments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Buyout Origination & Deal Sourcing

• Identify potential buyout targets through proprietary sourcing, market mapping, and outbound outreach

• Research founder-owned, family-owned, and sponsor-backed businesses aligned with firm investment criteria

• Track and manage deal pipelines, CRM systems, and sourcing analytics

• Support relationship-building with business owners, intermediaries, bankers, and advisors

Initial Deal Assessment & Screening

• Conduct high-level financial and qualitative analysis of sourced opportunities

• Review business models, ownership dynamics, growth drivers, and risk factors

• Perform preliminary valuation and return analysis to assess buyout viability

• Determine which opportunities should advance to deeper evaluation

Market & Industry Research

• Perform sector mapping and industry research to support thematic sourcing initiatives

• Monitor transaction activity, valuation trends, and competitive dynamics

• Contribute to the development of investment theses for targeted buyout strategies

Investment Team Support

• Prepare screening summaries, sourcing briefs, and internal materials

• Clearly communicate insights, risks, and recommendations to senior investment professionals

• Coordinate handoffs from origination to execution and diligence teams
