Job Description

About the Role:

The BVT Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous Build Verification Testing (BVT). This position is responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test suites that validate software builds before they proceed to further testing stages. The analyst collaborates closely with development and quality assurance teams to identify defects early in the software development lifecycle, thereby reducing downstream issues and improving overall product stability. By analyzing test results and providing detailed reports, the BVT Analyst helps drive continuous improvement in build processes and testing methodologies. Ultimately, this role ensures that only stable and verified builds are delivered, supporting timely and successful product releases within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with software testing methodologies, particularly build verification testing.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) or related areas.
  • Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual build verification test cases to validate software builds.
  • Collaborate with software developers and QA teams to understand build changes and update test suites accordingly.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and communicate findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor build health and provide timely feedback to ensure early detection of integration issues.
  • Document test procedures, results, and best practices to support continuous improvement of the BVT process.

Skills:

The required skills enable the BVT Analyst to design and implement effective test cases that verify software build integrity on a daily basis. Programming and scripting skills are essential for automating repetitive test scenarios, increasing efficiency, and reducing human error. Familiarity with testing frameworks and CI/CD tools allows the analyst to integrate testing seamlessly into the development pipeline, ensuring rapid feedback on build quality. Analytical skills are used to interpret test results, diagnose issues, and recommend corrective actions promptly. Preferred skills such as Agile experience and strong communication enhance collaboration with development teams, fostering a proactive approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
