JOB TITLE: C-17 Aircraft Maintenance Technician
LOCATION:Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
PAY RATE: $47.78/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

  • Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

Summary:

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.

  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

  • Performs validation and verification testing of systems and components.

  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance including repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results.

  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

  • Reads, understands and interprets basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Applies knowledge of repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices.

  • Detects hazardous working conditions and safety problems via regular check of equipment and work area.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working from heights and using fall protection equipment with weight limitations of 225lb or lower.

  • 3+ years of experience having the ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • 3+ years of experience in detecting hazardous working conditions and safety problems via a regular check of equipment and work area.

  • 3+ years of experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices.

  • Must pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain qualification or certification.

  • Preferred: Knowledge of live aircraft operations, environment and support, including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems operations.

  • Preferred: Minimum 3 years of C-17 platform experience and ability to read, interpret and understand C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.

  • Preferred: Multi-system operations, maintenance and repair experience including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems.
