The Senior Engineer - Data Integration is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise data integration solutions that enable secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange across Thorne''s technology ecosystem. Serving as a technical leader for enterprise integrations, this role will leverage MuleSoft as Thorne''s strategic integration platform to standardize APIs, integration patterns, orchestration, monitoring, and governance while supporting the modernization and retirement of legacy integration technologies.

Working closely with business stakeholders, application owners, and cross-functional IT teams, the Senior Engineer - Data Integration will translate business requirements into scalable integration solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and system interoperability. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise integration architecture, API development, and modern integration platforms, along with a passion for building reusable, secure, and high-performing solutions that support Thorne''s continued growth and digital transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the technical strategy, architecture, and implementation of Thorne''s enterprise data integration platform, with MuleSoft serving as the organization''s primary integration and API management solution.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable APIs, application integrations, data pipelines, and event-driven solutions across enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reusable integration solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Lead the migration from legacy integration technologies to MuleSoft by assessing existing integrations, defining migration roadmaps, and executing remediation, cutover, and decommissioning activities.
  • Establish and maintain integration standards, architecture documentation, operational runbooks, support procedures, and technical knowledge resources to ensure long-term operational sustainability.
  • Design integrations with scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, and high availability to support business-critical operations and future organizational growth.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management processes, and environment promotion strategies using Azure DevOps and other enterprise DevOps tools.
  • Implement integration security best practices by protecting data in transit, managing authentication and credentials, and ensuring compliance with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration incidents, production issues, and data flow interruptions while driving root cause analysis and continuous service improvements.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce administrators, developers, architects, and other application teams to design and implement enterprise integrations utilizing APIs, Apex, Flow, Lightning components, and platform automation where appropriate.
  • Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational readiness initiatives to ensure the reliability and availability of enterprise integration services.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship by promoting best practices in MuleSoft development, API-led connectivity, CI/CD, documentation, and integration architecture across the engineering organization.
  • Communicate technical strategies, project status, risks, and dependencies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, translating complex concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices in MuleSoft, API management, cloud integration, observability, automation, and enterprise architecture, making recommendations that improve platform capabilities and operational efficiency.
