Imperial Finish Carpentry is a family-owned shop building high-end custom cabinetry and millwork. We care about clean builds, flawless finishes, and rock-solid teamwork.
What You’ll Do
Fabricate & assemble custom cabinets: kitchens, vanities, closets, built-ins, bookshelves.
Build doors: shaker, slab/flat, and laminated doors to tight tolerances.
Finishing excellence: surface prep, sanding, staining, glazing, toning, and topcoating (conversion varnish, lacquer, water-borne/catalyzed systems).
Spray finishing: HVLP/pressure-pot setup, needle/nozzle selection, viscosity checks, gun maintenance, booth upkeep.
Color work: color matching, sample boards, blending/touch-ups, sheen control (matte–gloss).
Laminate: apply HPL, edgeband cleanly and consistently.
Read & execute drawings, cut lists, and precise measurements.
QC: inspect fit/finish, correct defects (nibs, orange peel, fisheyes, runs).
Assist with installs as needed (on-site touch-ups and blend-ins).
Safety & shop care: keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years in cabinet making, millwork, or finish carpentry.
Build start-to-finish (boxes, doors, drawers), consistent reveals & edges.
Pro stain/paint skills: primers, sealers, toners, glazes, film-build targets.
HVLP spray booth experience (required).
Detail-oriented, reliable; able to work solo and with a team.
Reliable transportation to our Tampa shop.
Nice to have: laminate shop experience, CNC basics, bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical & Safety
Stand for extended periods, lift 50+ lbs, move sheet goods, occasional ladder use.
PPE provided; must be respirator fit-compliant for spray finishing.
Pay & Growth
$20–$28/hour to start (DOE)
Regular performance reviews with potential raises & bonuses.
