is currently seeking a Cable and Harness Technician 2 for our client Northrop Grumman at location Goleta, California, United States Onsite.
Job Description
The Cable and Harness Technician will manufacture electrical harness assemblies for spacecraft components, interpreting schematics to build compliant assemblies and performing basic electrical tests such as continuity and insulation resistance.
Duties include diligently maintaining and completing paperwork and electronic data for hardware assemblies to ensure data and material traceability while following procedures and collaborating with engineers on process development.
This role requires knowledge of soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, harness routing, strain relief techniques, structural bonding, and the application of epoxysilicone adhesives.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, able to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work flexible hours, overtime on the 2nd shift to meet demanding manufacturing schedules.
Skills
• Experience building electrical harness assemblies and interpreting schematics • Knowledge of basic electrical tests, continuity, insulation resistance • Knowledge of soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, and harness routing • Current or past certification in soldering or related skills • Ability to read, write, work to instructions in English, and follow engineering drawings • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 40 lbs and be on feet for extended periods • J-STD-001 NASA STD 8739.1 or NASA STD 8739.4 Certification • Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring • U.S. Citizen able to obtain DoD Secret clearance • Experience with ISO requirements and compliance
