Job Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking Cable Harness Assemblers in Orlando, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will build cable and wire harness assemblies from wiring diagrams, schematics, and form boards while performing soldering, crimping, connector installation, and related assembly operations. Openings are available for both intermediate and experienced assemblers working to Class 3 IPC workmanship standards.

Required Skills

  • Intermediate track: Bachelor’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience and 1–3 years of manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Experienced track: Bachelor’s degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience, plus 3+ years of manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Experience building cable and wire harness assemblies.
  • Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and wire harness prints.
  • Completed IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with demonstrated Class 3 workmanship.
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, contact insertion, connector assembly, and backshell installation.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and written mechanical engineering instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and related assembly equipment.
  • Team-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • J-STD-001 certification.
  • Defense industry manufacturing experience, particularly for the experienced track.
  • Previous IPC/WHMA-A-620E-S space addendum experience.
  • Experience with IPC 620 defect recognition.
  • IPC-A-610 experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Build cable and wire harness assemblies using wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, schematics, and form boards.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, contact insertion, connector installation, and backshell torquing.
  • Complete cable and harness assembly work in accordance with Class 3 IPC workmanship standards.
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including cables, modules, boards, panels, drawers, and frames.
  • Create initial assembly layouts and use hand tools, power tools, jigs, saws, and other production equipment.
  • Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
  • Support quality inspections in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies as required.

Pay

  • Intermediate track: $21.00 per hour
  • Experienced track: $24.00 per hour
