Cable Harness Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Cable Harness Manufacturing Engineer in Oldsmar, Florida for an approximately 13-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and improve manufacturing processes, production layouts, and work sequences supporting cable harnesses, electromechanical subassemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material handling. The engineer will focus on improving process efficiency, product quality, manufacturability, and production performance.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree with 9–15 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 7–13 years of relevant experience.
• Manufacturing Engineering experience in a production environment.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
• Experience evaluating manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes for efficiency and quality.
• Experience investigating manufacturing problems and implementing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process control and quality requirements.
• Ability to work with engineering teams to translate product designs and specifications into practical manufacturing processes.

Preferred Skills

• Cable harness manufacturing experience.
• Experience with electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics.
• Experience incorporating inspection and test requirements into manufacturing plans.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design manufacturing processes and production layouts for cable harnesses, subassemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material-handling operations.
• Develop manufacturing sequences and procedures supporting fabrication, assembly, tooling, and production activities.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and overall process performance.
• Adapt equipment and machine designs to production-floor requirements and manufacturing conditions.
• Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans as needed.
• Evaluate machinery, equipment, and tooling performance to identify inefficiencies and production issues.
• Investigate manufacturing deficiencies and initiate corrective actions.
• Develop manufacturing processes suitable for Statistical Process Control and other process-control techniques.
• Provide manufacturing guidance to engineering teams regarding design concepts, specifications, equipment capabilities, and production methods.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable requirements and regulations.

Pay

• $40.00–$47.00 per hour.
