Cable Rolling Operator (Onsite)

Talent Responsibilities
The Cable Rolling Operator plays a key role in ensuring precision, efficiency, and productivity in a dynamic work environment. They operate measuring devices such as snap gauges and dial calipers with technical expertise while leveraging strong problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively.
With excellent communication-both written and interpersonal-they collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams and manage relationships with tact and diplomacy. Their adaptability, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and plan enable them to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative, and multicultural settings.
Cable Preparation and Measurement
- Spool cables to desired lengths for inventory placement.
- Use measuring devices like snap gauges and dial calipers to ensure cables meet specifications.
Production and Etching
- Operate an etching machine to perform production tasks.
- Assist cable operators with daily tasks such as:
- Fixing bobbins.
- Cleaning machinery.
- Operating braiding machinery.
Quality Inspection and Testing
- Inspect cables for defects, flaws, or deviations from specifications.
- Read cable drawings to ensure specifications are met. (Color, Size, and Flaws)
- Perform testing on cable jackets to ensure they meet company standards.
- Log all inspection and testing data into the PDO Tracker file for Cable Manufacturing.
Communication and Reporting
- Inform the Cable Engineer if a product falls out of specification and requires further evaluation.
- Perform needed testing on the cable jacket to ensure it meets specifications.
- Report all data from jacketing inspections to the Cable Manufacturing Supervisor. Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. • Understand and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure employee safety.
Workspace Maintenance
- Maintain the cable rolling room by keeping it clean and organized.
- Follow the Company's 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Additional Duties
- Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Talent Profile
Education:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience as a machine operator
- Minimum of 1 year working in a factory/warehouse setting, preferably cable
- Preferably 1 year inspection experience
Skills / Knowledge:
- Multitasking and Parallel Task Management
- Effective and clear communication
- Microsoft Word/Excel
- Proficient in using measuring devices such as snap gauges and dial calipers
- Mechanically inclined
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize and plan
- Team-oriented mindset
- Adaptable to change
- Ability to manage customers and peers with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
Physical/Mental Abilities:
- Able to lift and move material/spools of finished products up to 60 lbs. (Assistance using lifting equipment when necessary)
- Able to wear proper PPE including but not limited to; Gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, non-slip shoes.
- Must have the physical and mental abilities needed to perform all essential tasks listed; reasonable accommodations may be made to help the job holder perform essential tasks.
