Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Cable Technician to support commercial cabling projects in office buildings, data centers, warehouses, and other commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structured cabling and be capable of working independently while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Pull, route, and secure CAT6 cable in commercial environments.
- Terminate CAT6 cables on patch panels, jacks, and network equipment.
- Label and document cable installations according to project requirements.
- Test and troubleshoot copper cabling systems using industry-standard testing equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and cable run diagrams.
- Install cable through conduit, basket tray, J-hooks, and other support systems.
- Operate scissor lifts and boom lifts to perform overhead cabling work.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all site safety requirements.
- Complete projects efficiently while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of recent experience in structured cabling and commercial low-voltage installations.
- Proven experience pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing CAT6 cable.
- Experience working on and operating scissor lifts and/or boom lifts.
- Ability to work at heights and perform overhead cabling installations.
- Ability to read construction drawings and cable schedules.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work throughout the day.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lift certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
