Location Spartanburg, SC Job Type Contract (client conversion to permanent possible based on performance) Project Duration Approximately 2–3 years Overtime Significant overtime opportunity available

About the Role

Our cabling vendor is hiring Cable Data Technicians to support a large-scale, multi-year structured cabling project for our client in Spartanburg, SC. This is an entry point into the low-voltage cabling trade: we are looking for candidates with a background in construction who are eager to learn cable installation, testing, and termination under the guidance of experienced technicians.

This is a contract position with strong potential for the client to convert top performers to a permanent role based on performance, attendance, and reliability over the course of the project.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the installation, routing, and support of low-voltage data cabling as part of a structured cabling crew.
  • Learn low-voltage cabling techniques, tools, and best practices from experienced technicians and crew leads.
  • Apply prior construction experience and site awareness to work safely and efficiently in an active jobsite environment.
  • Follow all job site safety procedures and requirements at all times.
  • Adapt to shifting schedules, including standard daytime hours, occasional night shifts, and weekend work, as needed to meet project milestones.
  • Support the crew and project leadership in hitting agreed-upon project timelines and deliverables.

    Schedule

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. Depending on project timeline requirements, technicians may occasionally be needed for a split shift working nights, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., and potentially weekends. Schedule needs will be communicated in advance as project milestones require.

    Requirements

  • Prior construction experience required.
  • Genuine interest in learning and building a career in the low-voltage cabling trade.
  • Must have a current OSHA 10 safety certification with card in hand, or must be able to obtain one before site access will be granted.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Must pass a 5-panel drug screen.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must supply your own steel-toed boots that cover the ankle. All other required safety PPE will be provided by our client.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends, based on project needs.

    Why Join This Project

  • A multi-year project (approximately 2–3 years) offering long-term, stable work.
  • Hands-on training and a clear path into the low-voltage cabling trade.
  • Plenty of overtime opportunity.
  • Potential for the client to convert strong performers to a permanent position.
