Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM 6:00 PM
- Schedule: 11 Days On / 3 Days Off
- Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off
Job Summary
We are seeking a Cable Repair Technician to perform inspection, repair, testing, and assembly of Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cables used in the oil and gas industry. This is a hands-on manufacturing/repair position requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely work with high-voltage testing equipment. Training on company-specific processes and high-voltage safety will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cable builds, repairs, and refurbishment of ESP cables.
- Conduct high-voltage electrical testing on repaired cables.
- Splice, repair, and prepare ESP cables for customer use.
- Spool and handle heavy cable materials using proper procedures.
- Complete inspection reports, testing records, and repair documentation.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues.
- Read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company quality and safety standards.
- Work effectively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience repairing or installing Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cables.
- General electrical experience.
- Mechanical experience such as:
- Automotive
- Diesel equipment
- Industrial maintenance
- Machine shop
- Mechanical assembly
- Forklift operating experience.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
Experience
- Preferred: 1+ year repairing, installing, or servicing ESP cables.
- Candidates with mechanical or electrical backgrounds and strong hands-on skills are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand for long periods.
- Perform repetitive hand and finger movements during cable splicing and repair.
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs continuously.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions.
- Use hands and arms continuously for cable handling and repair.
- Perform close visual inspections of small cable components.
- Operate vehicles when required.

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may include exposure to:
