Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cable Technician with 2+ years of commercial low-voltage cabling experience to join our team on a hotel construction project. The ideal candidate will have experience installing structured cabling systems and be able to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Pull, route, and secure CAT6 cable throughout commercial hotel facilities following project drawings and specifications.
  • Terminate CAT6 cables on patch panels, keystone jacks, faceplates, and network equipment in accordance with industry standards.
  • Dress, organize, and manage cable pathways to maintain clean, professional installations.
  • Label all cables, outlets, and equipment accurately according to project documentation and customer standards.
  • Test and certify CAT6 cabling using approved cable testing equipment and troubleshoot any failed or defective connections.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage wiring diagrams.
  • Install cable supports including J-hooks, cable trays, and other pathway systems while adhering to NEC and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all OSHA and site-specific safety regulations.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure project milestones are met.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience installing structured cabling in commercial environments.
  • Experience pulling, terminating, dressing, labeling, and testing CAT5e/CAT6 cabling.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of commercial cabling standards, TIA/EIA guidelines, and NEC requirements.
  • Experience working in hotels, offices, hospitals, schools, or other commercial construction environments is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in ceilings and other confined spaces.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work a full-time construction schedule.
