Role: Cabling Technician

Pay Rate Range: $18 - $25 hourly

Job Responsibilities:
· Install, terminate, test, and certify Cat 5e and Cat 6 cabling systems.
· Perform cable routing, pulling, and dressing in commercial and industrial environments.
· Identify and troubleshoot network cabling issues, ensuring proper connectivity and performance.
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
· Mount, install, and maintain cable trays, racks, and conduit pathways.
· Conduct quality assurance tests and document results.
· Adhere to all safety regulations and industry standards.
· Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure optimal system performance.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an organized and professional manner.
Requirements:
· Must have 2 years of experience in the installation of cabling associated with: telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV security, access control & wireless solutions.
· Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables.
· Installation of Wireless Access Points (WAPs).
· Run fiber optic cable, terminating fiber ends (SC, ST, LC) efficiently and to industry, manufacturer and AFL standards.
· Read blueprints.
· Ability to climb ladders and hang cable in awkward spaces. Ability to work from boom/scissor lifts.
