CAD/CAM Designer - Fixed Restorations (3Shape)

About the Role
A well-established full-service dental laboratory in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Designer - Fixed Technician with strong expertise in 3Shape to support high-quality fixed restorative workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled digital technician who enjoys hands-on involvement, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design crowns and custom abutments using 3Shape, including split-file workflows
Perform Encode decoding and work confidently with scan bodies
Support implant restorative cases from design through production readiness
Pre-finish and work with green-state zirconia as needed
Perform scanning of models and cases when required
Nest cases for milling (experience with MillBox is a plus)
Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy, quality, and turnaround times
Maintain high standards for consistency, communication, and case documentation
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Fixed CAD/CAM Designer in a dental laboratory
Strong working knowledge of 3Shape design software
Experience with implant workflows, including scan bodies and Encode systems
Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with MillBox nesting software
Cross-training in scanning and production workflows
Background in full-service lab environments

Compensation & Benefits
Estimated salary: ~$70,000~$90,000/year, depending on experience
