Position Overview:
A skilled CAD/CAM Engineer is needed to design, program, and optimize cabinetry and casework using Microvellum software. This role converts architectural drawings and customer specifications into precise, machine-ready files for CNC fabrication, bridging design and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed cabinet and casework designs using Microvellum.
- Generate cut lists, material takeoffs, and CNC toolpaths.
- Collaborate with project managers and production staff to ensure designs meet timelines and capabilities.
- Optimize layouts to reduce material waste and increase efficiency.
- Maintain product libraries and coordinate materials and hardware with vendors.
- Troubleshoot design or constructability issues prior to production.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software a plus.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction, AWI standards, and CNC workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- 2-4 years of Microvellum experience in cabinetry or milwork or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Must be familiar with CNC operations and G-code.
