    CAD/CAM Programmer – Metal Fabrication

    Job Title: CAD/CAM Programmer
    Days & Night Shift Available

    PAY:$25.00 – $35.00 per hour (DOE)

    Overview

    Apache Workforce is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to support advanced metal fabrication operations for leading manufacturing partners. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for flat sheet and tube fabrication, including laser cutting, press brake operations, and other precision manufacturing processes.

    The ideal candidate has experience with CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, and metal fabrication workflows, and enjoys working closely with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency.

    What You'll Be Doing

    CAD/CAM Programmers are responsible for:

    • Creating, modifying, and maintaining 2D and 3D CAD models, flat patterns, and CAM programs

    • Developing and optimizing CNC programs for flat sheet and tube laser cutting, press brake operations, punching, and fabrication equipment

    • Programming using BySoft CAM, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks

    • Interpreting customer drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation

    • Creating production-ready files including DXF, STEP (STP), and NC code

    • Collaborating with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability and product accuracy

    • Managing program data within Global Shop Solutions (ERP) and utilizing Zumen for document control and revision management

    • Troubleshooting programming, nesting, tooling, and machine compatibility issues

    • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by refining programming standards and manufacturing processes

    • Performing additional duties as assigned

    What We're Looking For

    • Minimum 3 years of CAD/CAM programming experience in a metal fabrication environment

    • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and BySoft CAM

    • Experience programming CNC laser cutting equipment (flat sheet and/or tube)

    • Knowledge of press brake programming and fabrication workflows

    • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

    • Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum fabrication

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

    • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate's Degree in CAD/CAM Technology, CNC Programming, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field

    • Experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP

    • Familiarity with Zumen or similar document control systems

    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement

    Work Environment

    Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may include:

    • Office and shop floor responsibilities

    • Frequent interaction with engineering, production, and fabrication teams

    • Exposure to manufacturing equipment and fabrication processes

    • Standing and walking throughout the production floor as needed

    • Use of required PPE when entering manufacturing areas, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
